Microsoft Supporting Alacritech Accelerator Cards
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on Fri, April 4th, 2008
In Windows Server 2008
As the inventor and industry leader of Dynamic TCP Offload, Alacritech’s drivers have been included as part of the “in- the-box” distribution developed for Windows Server 2008.
“Customers moving to Windows Server 2008 can easily benefit from the enhanced network and IP storage performance that Alacritech Accelerators can provide,” said Doug Rainbolt, vice president of marketing at Alacritech. “The Alacritech in-the-box drivers, available as part of Windows 2008, provide customers an easy path to enable and benefit from TCP Chimney offload functionality and performance.”
Alacritech Accelerators integrate easily with Windows Server 2008 and can contribute significantly to server performance where data movement workloads, such as file serving, reduce CPU utilization and results in fewer servers supporting more client systems. Deploying Alacritech’s dynamic scalable accelerators means less capital and power consumer, fewer licenses and support requirements.
Alacritech and Microsoft have long partnered to help customers get the
most performance from servers that are committed to moving and
processing large TCP payloads. As part of its partnership with
Microsoft, Alacritech participates in Microsoft’s Scalable Networking
Initiative and fully supports Microsoft’s TCP Chimney Offload and
network stack. Both are committed to Alacritech’s Dynamic TCP Offload
model, from which Microsoft TCP Chimney originated.
