Emulex 8Gb FC HBAs Selected by Compellent

Emulex Corporation announced that its 8Gb/s LightPulse Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) are available for Compellent Storage Center Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions. Emulex 8Gb/s Fibre Channel HBAs deliver reliability and performance for host and initiator environments using Compellent’s Storage Center SAN.
“Through our partnership, Compellent customers will experience the streamlined installation, simplified management, enterprise scalability and industry-leading virtualization support offered by Emulex’s 8Gb/s Fibre Channel HBAs,” said Steve Daheb, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of business development, Emulex. “The availability of Emulex’s LightPulse HBAs through Compellent and our collaboration on encryption reinforce the strength of Emulex’s relationship with Compellent.”
Emulex HBAs draw from eight generations of advanced, Fibre Channel technology and the latest generation, Emulex's LPe12000 family of 8Gb/s Fibre Channel HBAs, provide the increased bandwidth, manageability and CPU efficiency required to support even more virtual ports and virtual machines, maximizing the benefits and costs savings that can be achieved with server virtualization.
