Rapid7 Validates Security of Online Backup Backupify

Backupify, provider of online backup services for cloud application data, has completed penetration testing conducted by Rapid7, provider of security risk intelligence solutions.

In addition to validating their security practices, Backupify has implemented additional layers of security as part of the company's ongoing commitment to providing customers with a secure backup solutions for cloud based data.

For customers using business applications in the cloud, Backupify's data security measures now represent the highest industry standards available in backup and restoration services.

Backupify partnered with Rapid7 to conduct penetration testing, identify the largest potential threats and provide guidance on how to mitigate any risk associated with those threats. This structured approach to security identifies the top threats that have the greatest potential impact on an organization's infrastructure.

To further ensure customer confidence, and give prospective customers even more reasons to choose its services, Backupify has also implemented a number of additional data security measures, including bucket level versioning on Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and AWS multi-factor authentication delete capability.

With bucket level versioning, multiple copies of each data point is retained once any change is made from the original document. This gives Backupify the ability to preserve, retrieve, and restore earlier versions  of their data stored in an Amazon S3 bucket. AWS multi-factor authentication gives Backupify an additiaonal layer of security mitigating risks around delete operations.

The combination of these security measures provides Backupify customers with multiple layers of protection and backup copies of their cloud-based application data.
