Seagate, Quantum, EMC Storage Brand Leaders

According to IT Brand Pulse
IT Brand Pulse, a source of data and analysis about IT infrastructure, announced the results of the April 2011 IT Brand Leader Awards Survey. In this survey, respondents were asked which vendors they perceive as the leader in six IT categories: Enterprise Servers, Enterprise HDDs, Mid-Range Tape Drives, Application Delivery Controllers, Email Security Gateway, and Virtual Tape Library. Within those categories, respondents chose the brand leader in market, price, performance, reliability, service and support, and innovation.
Highlights of the survey:
Market Leader Virtual Tape Library
"For Enterprise Servers, the only significant write-in votes were for Cisco blade servers in the Innovation category," said Frank Berry, CEO and Senior Analyst, IT Brand Pulse, "This result, and HP's domination of the recent Blade Server Brand Leader Survey, indicate that Blade Server leadership is driving IT perceptions of Enterprise Server leadership."
About the Brand Leader Surveys
IT Brand Pulse Brand Leader surveys are designed to measure the pulse of brand leadership in specific product categories. Each month, IT professionals respond to one survey covering six product categories. Within each product category, respondents choose the overall market leader, as well as the leader in price, performance, reliability, service and support, and innovation.
Highlights of the survey:
- Almost 50% of the IT professionals who responded selected HP as the Enterprise Server Market Leader. Exactly 26% selected second place IBM, while 18.9% of respondents selected third place Dell.
- Seagate swept every category of Enterprise HDD brand leadership over Hitachi and Western Digital.
- Quantum was chosen as Market Leader for Mid-Range Tape Drives, and won leader awards in four other categories. IBM placed first in one category and was second in the other five.
- Cisco won five of six brand leader awards, including the Market Leader Award for Aplication Delivery Controllers. Citrix won the Price Leader Award and placed second in every other catoegory.
- Cisco/IronPort was selected as Email Security Gateway Market Leader, as well as the leader for Performance, Reliability, and Service and Support. Google/Postini was selected as the Price Leader and Innovation Leader.
- In the Virtual Tape Library product category, EMC was chosen as the Market Leader, as well as leader in every other category except Price. FalconStor was voted the Price Leader.
