Carbonite Signed With Packard Bell
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on Fri, June 27th, 2008
All PCs from the manufacturer sold in Europe will include online backup.
The collaboration agreement between Carbonite and Packard Bell serves as a milestone in the online backup industry, trailblazing the incorporation of pre-installed online backup services on PCs.
“Carbonite is very pleased that Packard Bell decided to bundle their desktops and notebooks with our online PC backup,” said Floyd Bradley, executive vice president international for Carbonite. “Our mission is to provide the most secure, reliable and easy-to-use backup solution for consumers. Packard Bell demonstrates the same commitment by providing the best design, security, performance and entertainment experience to their customers.”
New purchasers of Packard Bell computers can begin safeguarding their digital lives immediately via the bundled, free four-month subscription of unlimited data storage via Carbonite Online Backup. The only requirements needed to start the service are an email address and password for encrypting the transmitted data. At the end of the free subscription period, Packard Bell customers can renew their protection for an additional year for only €49 including VAT (£29.99 in the UK and SEK 450 in Sweden).
"With Carbonite Online Backup, users can now quickly and easily back up their digital content and enjoy peace-of-mind, knowing their lifetime of memories is secure," said Philippe Guyon, Partnership & Marketing European Director at Packard Bell. "As a company that offers design, ease of use and performance, we naturally understand the importance of protecting all the personal content in a simple way. Packard Bell is pleased to partner with Carbonite, the best solutions for PC backup, to bring our customers a better digital experience.”
The pre-loaded software for Carbonite’s Online Backup will be available to Packard Bell customers in eight languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese and Swedish. Users in multi-lingual countries such as Belgium and Switzerland will have their choice of language at the time of the PC setup process.
