Beijing Hope to Distribute BakBone in China

Through its network of 1000+ resellers in the country

BakBone Software signed an agreement with China’s leading software distributor, Beijing Hope Co., Ltd.

Under the terms of the agreement, Beijing Hope will sell BakBone’s NetVault: Backup as its exclusive data protection solution through its extensive network of 1000+ resellers in China. Beijing Hope is replacing CA’s data protection solution with NetVault: Backup.

BakBone has the experience in channel management and storage marketing that we look for in a strong partner,” said Zhou Mingtao, CEO, Beijing Hope.

Founded in 1985, Beijing Hope is China’s leading software distributor, representing Adobe, Autodesk and Corel. The company has earned multiple awards and the products it represents have won more than 100 awards.

According to IDC’s March 2007 Market Analysis on the worldwide data protection and recovery market, IDC expects growth in this market to come from the Asia Pacific and EMEA regions. IDC predicts that the Asia Pacific data protection and recovery market is projected to grow by a compound annual growth rate of 12.4 percent from 2006-2011 and reach 663 million in 2011. IDC reports that in China, two verticals representing high growth opportunities in the data protection segment are the banking and communications and media industries.

BakBone offers more than just software for customers in China and the Asia Pacific region; the company provides technical and customer support with events, localized product lines and local offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, China; Seoul, Korea; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Tokyo, Japan.
