Maxta Supports Intel Xeon Scalable Processors

Platform doubles performance and cuts latency in half.

Maxta Inc. announced the support for any server designed for Xeon Scalable Processors, introduced by Intel Corporation.

Maxta’s software approach to hyperconvergence enables customers to leverage the power of the next generation Xeon Scalable Processors on the first day of availability instead of waiting months for hardware-based hyper-convergence solutions to integrate this technology.

Maxta MxSP hyper-convergence software enables organizations of any size to transform complex and costly virtualized infrastructure into a more agile, efficient configuration by converging traditionally separate compute and storage tiers to create a hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI).

Supporting any brand of standard x86-based server configuration, the hyperconvergence software simplifies IT management and delivers cost savings by eliminating the need for expensive and complicated SANs and storage arrays.

Benchmark testing of a Maxta HCI cluster configured with Intel Xeon Platinum 8168 processors and Intel SSD Data Center Family with NVMe delivered a storage performance gain of 120% measured by IO/s, with less than half the storage latency as compared to the previous generation of Intel technology.

Using Intel QuickAssist Technology to offload and accelerate real-time data compression operations, the technology platform offered a further performance gain of 25% with an additional 13% decrease in latency.

These significant storage performance improvements underscore the potential of the Xeon Scalable platform to reduce costs through increased VM density, support for the most demanding applications, and customer agility by consolidating mixed workloads.

“In an era where business success often correlates to IT agility, enabling support from day one for new technologies such as the Intel Xeon Scalable platform is of paramount importance,” said Yoram Novick, founder and CEO, Maxta. “Through our software approach to hyperconvergence and choice of any brand of x86 server, Maxta is able to immediately capitalize on advances in hardware technology and deliver its value to users at the speed of innovation.”

“Intel Xeon Scalable processors provide significant performance gains across a variety of hybrid cloud workloads,” said Jake Smith, director of data center technologies, Intel. “By optimizing for the rich feature set based on cutting edge technology, companies such as Maxta are expanding the performance of their hyper-convergence solutions and delivering the foundation for an even broader set of Intel-based servers. Most important, their solutions enable IT organizations of all sizes to access these benefits now.”
