StoneFly DR365 DR Solution Integrates AWS and Azure Cloud Storage Platforms

For secure cloud repositories

StoneFly, Inc. announces the integration of the DR365 with the Microsoft Azure public cloud, Microsoft Azure Government, Amazon S3 and Amazon Glacier cloud platforms for secure off-site backup and replication.

DR365 ‘DR Site in a Box’ total backup and DR solutions already consolidate all servers, storage appliances and backup systems into one appliance that could be mirrored across campuses or replicated to remote sites. It has been integrated with Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS cloud platforms to enhance total BC with off-site public cloud storage.

Utilizing Azure Government for a DR365 cloud repository employs security and compliance services critical to the U.S. government for all systems and applications built on its architecture. These services include FedRAMP and DoD compliance certifications, CJIS state-level agreements, the ability to issue HIPAA Business Associate Agreements, and support for IRS 1075. Operated by screened U.S. persons, Azure Government supports multiple hybrid scenarios for building and deploying solutions on-premises or in the cloud. Public sector entities can also take advantage of the instant scalability and guaranteed uptime of a hyper-scale cloud service.

AWS Cloud infrastructure currently operates in 42 availability zones within 16 geographic regions around the world. It is a secure, durable technology platform with certifications and audits: PCI DSS Level 1, ISO 27001, FISMA Moderate, FedRAMP, HIPAA, and SOC 1. Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is an object storage with a simple web interface to store and retrieve any amount of data from anywhere on the web. Amazon Glacier is a secure, durable, and low-cost cloud storage service for data archiving and long-term backup.

DR365 solutions are hyper-converged DR appliances featuring the choice of an embedded industry standard VMware ESXi or Hyper-V hypervisor. Company’s SCVM Virtual SAN appliance adds ant assortment of storage management and data protection services such as campus mirroring, snapshot, deduplication, encryption, asynchronous replication, dual node failover support, thin provisioning.

An Enterprise Virtual Backup Engine automatically convert every backup image into a VM. In the event that a server or workstation fails, the VM copy of that system can be quickly spun up and hosted directly on the DR365 appliance while the failed machine is repaired. Replica VMs of running physical or virtual systems can be spun up at any time, from any point in time.

The DR365 supports P2P, P2V, V2P, and V2V operations (Physical-to-Physical, Physical-to-Virtual, Virtual-to-Physical, Virtual-to-Virtual) including restoring physical machines to different set of hardware and restoring VMs to a different Hypervisor. Backups and recovery can be highly granular down to the file and folder level, or vigorous to include a full disk image for bare metal recovery of a system including the OS, configurations, applications, data and more.

The DR365 provides a total backup solution for all of an office or datacenter’s physical and virtual servers and workstations. The appliance support environments including Windows servers and workstations, VMware, Hyper-V, Xenserver, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, Oracle VM, as well as multiple flavors of Linux including Red Hat, Ubuntu, Fedora, SUSE, Debian, CentOS and more.

VMware ESX/ESXi and Hyper-V servers implement agentless backups where the agent is installed only on the embedded Hypervisor and not the actual VMs.

Specialized and application aware backup agents for Exchange, SQL, SharePoint and Active Directory provide reliable recovery down to an individual email message or database table.
