Storidge, New Player in Storage for Container

Persistent storage for Docker container is hot topic.

Storidge Inc., founded in 2012 by Jonathan Kong, is currently based in Mountain View, CA.

The company is an ISV developing a SDS product named microdisk to provide persistent storage for Docker containers. The product seems to play around industry file sharing protocols such NFS and SMB.

The information posted here is very weak but confirms these access method aspects. As indicated on this page, the company has also recently joined the Intel Storage Builders program.

In addition to Storidge, Jonathan Kong has co-founded two other companies: iQstor Networks and Integrix. He has spent 10 years from 2002 to 2012 at iQstor Networks as CTO, before he was VP engineering at Integrix for 11 years and previously at Amax as VP engineering for 2 years.

We find only one employee on LinkedIn but we discovered that Tony Sziklai is an advisor since December 2015. Globally the company has 8 employees.

Competition is dense in that area with dedicated players such Portworx, Rancher Labs or StorageOS or others who wish to extend their market coverage like Minio.

This hot segment has already one defunct company: ClusterHQ.
