Computex: Asustor to Debut NAS Models Featuring Wake On WAN Technology

Launch for AS7004T-i5 and AS7010T-i5 tower models equipped with Core-i5 processors

Asustor Inc. is exhibiting its home and business series NAS models at Computex 2017.

The company will also be unveiling its tower models for the year in the AS6302T and AS6404T. These two models introduce the generation Intel Corp. Apollo Lake platform and feature ‘Wake On LAN’ and ‘Wake On WAN’ network wake technology that allows users to enable NAS service from under different network environments.

For enterprise users, the company will also be launching the AS7004T-i5 and AS7010T-i5 tower models equipped with Core-i5 processors. In particular, the AS7010T-i5 supports 10GbE cards, helping enterprises to create a storage solution dedicated for fast environments. Additionally, first dedicated external storage expansion device, the AS6004U, will be making its debut. It provides all firm’s NAS devices with storage capacity expansion.

ADM 3.0: New look
The latest version of company’s dedicated NAS OS ADM, ADM 3.0, will also e exhibited. It features a new interface that provides users with more freedom. The flexibly designed desktop layout can provide an optimal configuration based on the display resolution, while convenient App organization provided by the grouping function, a desktop icon list and support for the creation of desktop snapshots along with a restore function allows users to experience management that is very similar to a tablet device.

ADM 3.0 also introduces the EZ-Connect function that allows users to easily connect to their NAS. With EZ-Connect, the system will detect the network environment and then automatically enable the Internet Passthrough function. Once this is complete, all users need is their cloud ID and the Asustor EZ Connect (AEC) desktop utility and they will be able to connect to their NAS from anywhere with Internet access.

Additionally, ADM 3.0 also adds desktop widgets and a system announcement function along with the release of the latest updated versions of all Apps. Furthermore, an usage option has been added during system initialization. Users can select whether their NAS will be used primarily for home or business use and then have associated NAS Apps installed during system initialization. These Apps will be available for use once initialization is complete.

Surveillance Center

In addition to providing the core functions of storage and backup, the company’s NAS also provides a surveillance application, along with a variety of multimedia applications. NAS features the Surveillance Center App which allows users to turn their NAS into a professional NVR, creating surveillance systems for both home and office use. Surveillance Center 2.7 supports the fisheye restoration mode 1O3R, and fisheye restoration of 360° panoramic views combined with three specified areas allowing users to monitor spaces from all angles as if they had multiple cameras. Additionally, users are also able to schedule the powering on and off of cameras, which increases operating convenience and reduces the time required for maintenance.

Asustor Portal


The company provides users with different practical multimedia applications including firm’s Portal, the LooksGood Web-based media hub, the Photo Gallery online photo album and the SoundsGood Web-based music player.

Asustor Portal can turn a NAS into a home entertainment center. Users can connect their NAS to an HDTV via HDMI and to enjoy a variety of dedicated apps created for TV use. These apps include the ADM management interface, a Web browser, YouTube TV, Netflix, Kodi.
