Sesame Software Introducing Cloud Backup and Recovery Solution on Salesforce AppExchange

Using Relational Junction product as underlying technology

Sesame Software, Inc. launched a cloud-based backup and recovery service on the Salesforce AppExchange, empowering businesses to connect with their customers, partners and employees in entirely new ways.

With the service, Sesame is using their industrial-strength Relational Junction product as the underlying technology. Built on the Salesforce Platform, Relational Junction is available on the Salesforce AppExchange.

Since September 2004, Sesame has sold on-premise solutions for reporting data warehouses, integration hubs, and data compliance.

Sesame CEO Rick Banister notes: “There has been a paradigm shift toward cloud backup solutions as organizations are becoming more comfortable with trusting vendors to manage their backups and less trusting of their own organizations in administering, securing, and recovering that data. Real-world recovery events have pointed out the need for a vendor-supported solution with experienced professional services staff that is ready for any recovery scenario. We’re hearing reports by customers of competing backup solutions that their daily backups are missing data and that the recovery tools are either completely lacking or too primitive to actually perform a recovery.

Sesame Software is taking a different approach than other vendors in this space. Instead of trying to build a solution that is both powerful yet has a ‘one button’ interface; it provides on-demand professional services to perform any type of recovery needed. Using Relational Junction, it can recover any field in any record to any point in time, once the backups have started, including the option of a complete data restore.

Banister points out: “No two recovery events are the same. We consult with the customer requesting the recovery to find out exactly what happened, when it happened, and work out what our recovery team needs to do to fix the problem. We can be as granular or as broad as you need, without customers having to learn a complex recovery process in the middle of a crisis.

IBM Corp. provides the secure and reliable cloud infrastructure for Sesame Software in regions required by customers. Sesame Software will perform a time-based incremental backup of customer’s data on Salesforce throughout the day – not just once a day – and keep every version of every record so that it can recover any data back to any point in time.
