David Turner president and CEO, HDS Federal

Formerly president of applied technology and operational services group at Akima

Hitachi Data Systems Federal, Inc., (HDS Federal), a data solutions provider to the federal government and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), announced David Turner has been appointed president and CEO.

He brings more than 20 years of experience and expertise in leading public sector business strategy and business development initiatives for Fortune 100 companies. Most recently, he was the president of the applied technology and operational services group at Akima where he managed business strategy and was responsible for a portfolio of five companies that served federal defense and civilian agencies. Previously, he SVP of ACS/Xerox, leading solutions and business development across the Federal, State and Local government businesses. Annual signings exceeded $4 billion in total contract value each year

David combines a deep knowledge of our federal customers’ needs with a successful track record delivering solutions to address those mission needs,” said HDS SVP of the Americas Barry Morrison. “We know he will be successful enabling public sector customers to leverage Hitachi’s powerful data management, analytics, mobility and visualization solutions to further their mission goals.”

Turner has a B.S. in molecular biology from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
