The firm, founded nearly two decades ago, is renowned within the creative storage industry for offering intelligent, performance shared storage that support collaborative 4K DPX, 8K, visual effects and 360 video workflows. With functionality that has included standards based PC, Windows and Linux compatibility, transparent Avid project sharing, quick and easy scalability up to 2.4PB, dynamic volume and storage expansion and speeds of 8,000MB/s with only HDDs, among numerous other features.

As a result of firm’s patented storage technologies, the EditStor family is able to create protocols to handle just about anything that might arise in the future. The Omni Flash and Velo Flash are a result of this forward-looking engineering – one that has already anticipated new developments for SSD technologies. Equipped with enterprise quality SSDs and company’s intelligence, the EditStor Velo and Omni bandwidth speeds have accelerated to 11,000 and 15,000 MB/s respectively in single engines, and IO/s have increased to 1.2 million.

Reuben Lima, CEO, Archion, said: “We continue our mission to bring our clients the highest and most reliable performance at a fraction of the cost, while reducing the insane pace of technological obsolescence. We continue to offer our existing Omni and Velo clients an opportunity to increase performance without requiring external appliances and unnecessary forklift upgrades. Media enterprises trust Archion’s advances in network media storage performance, reliability and overall functionality, and our announcement today should build on that confidence. Archion is, once again, setting new standards for this rapidly changing industry.

EditStor products’ speeds may only be topped by their integration of the SSD and HDD drives. Now, a standard EditStor expansion chassis can be added to an EditStor ‘Flash’ engine for high density and cost effectiveness, while delivering a transparent and blazing active tier performance for the most challenging workflows. Any and all 4K, 8K and 360 video workflow demands, such as DPX playback, UHD editorial, ingesting, transcoding, rendering and more, can be handled within a single EditStor system. In addition, all media is managed through a new user interface, which enables volume and share creation, naming and organization.

Recognizing that editorial facilities and media departments may not have such high performance demands currently, but do desire some ‘future-proofing’ and investment protection, the EditStor HDD to SDD upgrade is also a process. A preconfigured all-flash array is delivered and ready for a quick and simple deployment. Internal replication features enable a rapid transfer between volume groups for desired media management and file organization.

When we originally designed the Editstor Velo and Omni systems, we integrated our patented technology roadmap across the board. Every EditStor system features that technology, thus enabling our products to consistently and intuitively adapt. Our new all-Flash systems are a prime example of our forward-thinking design in action,” adds James Tucci, CTO, Archion.
