YugaByte, New Start-Up Still in Stealth Mode

Founded in 2016 in Los Altos,  CA, YugaByte, Inc. is a venture backed startup still in stealth mode playing in cloud infrastructure Services. 

Yuga means Era in Hindi.

The expertise of the company is around distributed systems, cloud and devops.

Their web site is very weak for the moment. They got an early stage VC round and the amount is not public.

The company was founded by a group of talented engineers
who have a few things in common, two co-founders coming from Nutanix:

• Kannan Muthukkaruppan, co-founder and CEO, previously engineer at Nutanix, technical lead at Facebook and consulting MTS at Oracle,
• Karthik Ranganathan, co-founder and CTO, was MTS at Nutanix, technical lead at Facebook, and before that software engineer at NetSuite and Microsoft,
• Mikhail Bautin, co-founder, software architect, after being software engineer at ClearStory Data and software engineer at Facebook,
• Bharat Baddepudi, founding engineer, principal software engineer at MapR, MTS at NetApp,
• Akashnil Dutta, founding engineer, previously software engineer, Trifacta,
• Ramkumar Vaidyanathan, founding engineer, was staff engineer at EVA Automation, software engineer at 49ers and Facebook,
• Bogdan-Alexandru Matican, founding engineer, was  executive engineer at Ucar, software engineer at Facebook

Globally we found 16 entries in LinkedIn with also Sid Choudhury, VP product.

An interesting element is that Bipul Sinha, CEO and founder of Rubrik, is also an advisor of the company.
