Mellanox Began Shipments of ConnectX-5 Ethernet Adapter

To server and storage OEMs, as well as key end-users

Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced first shipments of ConnectX-5, a 10, 25, 40, 50, 56 and 100Gb EDR IB and Ethernet adapter, to leading server and storage OEMs and key end-users.

ConnectX-5ConnectX-5 enables greater applications and data center performance. The adapter delivers 200 million IB messages per second, 33% faster than the previous ConnectX-4 generation, and more than two times better versus proprietary 100Gb offerings. For Ethernet DPDK infrastructures ConnectX-5 enables 140 million messages per second, 1.7 times higher message rate versus previous generations. ConnectX-5 facilitates the building of advanced and scalable data centers. The combination of ConnectX-5, X86, Power, ARM, FPGA and GPUs enables efficient server and storage platforms, overcoming performance bottlenecks.

ConnectX-5 is a 10, 25, 40, 50, 56 and 100Gb IB and Ethernet intelligent adapter. The adapter supports the latest In-network computing architecture, offloading performance computing and machine learning algorithms, accelerating DPDK infrastructures, optimizing storage platforms and more. The support for RDMA over IB and Ethernet, storage accelerators and full network offload makes the ConnectX-5 an advanced adapter.
